I’m Dan Meyer and, at 70, have been living with AS for over 10 years. I am a retired medical sociologist who taught family physicians in training for 30 years. I suffered through a year of diagnostic uncertainty with the baffling pain of AS, but am now relatively functional on bi-monthly Humira. Experienced with public health policy, I would love for the support group members to help each other but also for the group to increase the visibility of AS, both in general and in the Maine physician community.
I’m hoping others in mid-coast Maine with AS (and affected family members) will join me bi-monthly in Brunswick to share stories and provide support to one another. The group will be self-directed and may have opportunities for guest speakers and demonstrations. Please come and bring others who you think would be interested.
