In January 2018, SAA was the beneficiary of a wonderful volunteer fundraiser that took place at Fox Fine Jewelry in Ventura, CA. SAA member and glass artist, Susan Lorenzana along with fellow artist Amy Stevenson and Fox Fine Jewelry owner Debbie Fox created an art show with opportunities to purchase their art with the proceeds supporting our mission.
SAA sent a box of AS awareness items to have nearby the art for their opening/run of the show.
Available art was the luscious tropical island piece by Susan Lorenzana along with art from Amy Lynn Stevenson and jewelry from Fox Fine Jewelry.
Raffle tickets were $5 each, or 5 tickets for $20. Tickets were purchased in person at Fox Fine Jewelry or by phone (805) 652-1800. The raffle ended on January 15th at 7pm. The winner was drawn on January 17th.
Decadent Reflections was a successful show and fundraiser, helping to raise awareness of ankylosing spondylitis and support local artists at the same time.
Artist Susan Lorenzana was in tremendous pain. Misdiagnosed for several years, Susan Lorenzana clung to her art. Finally diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, she has improved tremendously by through her craft and accepting her art glass as therapy.
