SAA is so thankful for this volunteer fundraiser that occurred May 6, 2023 on Northbay Drive in Browns Summit, NC!Scoundrel Fest: A Community Fundraiser to Benefit SAA was a neighborhood block party with live music that featured Sam Burchfield and the Scoundrels.
Proceeds from this event benefited SAA in a variety of ways, including spondyloarthritis research, education, advocacy, and support.
Event organizer Heidi Waltz was featured on local television!
Event organizer and SAA support group leader, Heidi Waltz knows a thing or two about supporting patients living with spondyloarthritis.
Heidi created Scoundrel Fest: A Community Fundraiser to Benefit SAA from the heart. As an experienced support group leader, Heidi knows how important SAA programs are to the spondy community, especially the support group program. Her own words say it best:
Being a support group leader is inspiring. Everyone with spondyloarthritis has a unique story. Sharing those stories with a group that understands this disease is so beneficial. We motivate and encourage each other to keep fighting. I truly feel like we are a spondy family.
