I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2022 after experiencing symptoms for almost a decade. Navigating all the information and figuring out how to manage symptoms and treatment was (and is) challenging. I continue to explore and make adjustments to medication, movement, diet, and mindset to help me cope and thrive with this condition.
Professionally, I work in mental health care and love being able to walk with people through difficult life experiences and find relief, hope and wellness again. In my personal life, my passions include spending time with my loved ones, faith, walking with my dogs, travel, spending time in nature, yoga, biking, photography, and reading.
Not long after diagnosis, I started looking for a local support group and found there are none in my area. My hope for this group is to give myself and others the chance to find and give support as we navigate life with this added, unique challenge.
We’d love to have you join our team of passionate volunteers leading our spondylitis educational support groups! Learn more about how to get started here, and reach out to programs@spondylitis.org
