Sandra Voss, RYT-200 completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Harlem Yoga Studio, and Level 1 of Yoga for Arthritis® training with the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City. Sandra was diagnosed with SpA in 2015 and has been leading SAA’s NYC patient educational support group since 2017. She has found yoga, stretching, and other exercise to be extremely helpful for managing her pain and maintaining mobility, and she loves sharing the benefits of yoga with others. Sandra’s classes emphasize mindfulness, accessibility, reducing pain, connecting with our inner experience, and finding the version of a pose that feels best in your body, rather than practicing in order to achieve a “perfect” or “fancy” pose.

SAA encourages you to speak to your doctor before starting a new exercise regimen to make sure it is right for you. If a specific exercise or yoga pose hurts or doesn’t feel good, please either refrain from doing it or modify the movement so it feels right for your body.
