SAA partnered with support group leader Gail Wright to create a very special fundraiser!
Gail told SAA at the start of the project, “Patients need some superhero energy as they face surgery, infusion, or any other challenge, they may just benefit from a handmade superhero buddy.” We couldn’t agree more.
Our community donated to SAA and requested that a handmade superhero buddy be sent to a patient. SAA also included a pain journal to help document the patient’s medical journey.
Gail graciously donated the one-of-a-kind dolls. All dolls were crocheted by hand, and they went fast!
SAA also selected Gail’s fundraiser to support SAA’s GivingTuesday 2022 initiative. GivingTuesday is an annual global day of generosity. Last year it took place on November 29, 2022.
We were excited to make the SAA Pain Journal and Crochet Superhero Buddy Combo Pack available to donors who donated on GivingTuesday. It was the perfect way to amplify the mission of GivingTuesday and SAA at the same time.
SAA is so grateful for Gail’s talent and initiative to create this meaningful fundraiser. We know her superhero buddies will bring smiles to the faces of those in need of comfort for many years to come. By supporting a fellow Spondy who needed a little extra courage, donors also supported SAA at the same time.
