Sassy Fox Upscale Consignments is a mother/ daughter owned duo of ladies’ upscale consignment stores in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky. Brenda (mother) opened the first Sassy Fox in Lexington in 1991. Jessica (daughter) worked for the store during her high school and college years. After moving to Louisville in 1998 and working in the health food industry for several years, in 2005 Jessica opened her own Sassy Fox in Louisville. Both stores have a stellar reputation for providing the best in gently used ladies’ designer clothing and accessories.
In 2017, the store’s owner was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, which is a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine, although other joints can become involved. It causes inflammation of the spinal joints (vertebrae) that can lead to severe, chronic pain and discomfort. In more advanced cases, this inflammation can lead to ankylosis – new bone formation in the spine – causing sections of the spine to fuse in a fixed, immobile position. AS can also cause inflammation, pain, and stiffness in other areas of the body such as the shoulders, hips, ribs, heels and small joints of the hands and feet. Sometimes the eyes can become involved (known as iritis or uveitis), and – rarely – the lungs and heart can be affected.
